After taking a few days off of renovation, Graham got back to work in the Gite finishing off some important jobs to get the Gite closer to being renovated. Jake and Danielle have been super busy in bedroom 4 with the occasional help from French student Sacha. Danielle also gets out her box of upholstery kit to begin making some crafty, homemade draft excluders for the many drafty doors we have in the chateau. Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video. A shorter video this week as we have been super busy with guests and family this week! However, not only has dad still completed loads of work in the Gite but we have also taken delivery of the long awaited paintings we debuted in late summer last year. Our good friend, a highly decorated and world-renowned framer and mounter Lynne, has worked on many famous pieces of art from all around the world. To have someone of her expertise and professionalism work on Uncle Geoffrey’s paintings is something we imagine he would have been incredibly proud of. We are thrilled to have his paintings back at the chateau and Lynne has done an incredible job showing off his superb paintings. As many of you know, our completed rooms were crying out for some art on the wall – we hope to hang many more pieces of Uncle Geoffrey’s artwork throughout the rooms. Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video. Many hands make light WORK. Light work means lots of PROGRESS. Lots of progress means a BIG VIDEO! A big video means lots of FUN! It was full steam ahead this week and with Louis with us, it meant that we were absolutely flying through jobs! Jake, Danielle and Louis absolutely tore through jobs in the King Charles Room – while making sure they are having fun at the same time, of course! We had a fantastic week with Louis and he improved on his already very good English! He even had the confidence to tell one of Grahams terrible Dad jokes! Louis has sadly left the chateau now to return to Lyon, but we really hope that we will see Louis and his family again in the future! While lots of fun was being had inside the warm chateau, Dad has remained working hard in Gite completing electrical circuits, putting up the last of the plasterboard and finishing the water pipe saga from last week’s frustration. Next week we are going to be very busy with guests visiting the chateau. However, we fully intend to remain busy working around the chateau on our quieter days! Welcome back to another Chateau de Bruges video. A very busy week full of renovation causes a few headaches in the gite for Graham. Fighting depression, despair and dismay, Graham soldiers on to make progress with challenging tasks and even takes the time to share another of his terrible dad jokes! I’m sorry! Jake and Danielle continue to prepare the King Charles room for decoration. Lots of sanding painting and paint stripping was the objective this week and its safe to say that plenty of progress has been made. Louis, from Lyon joins us for a week to help with renovations and to continue to improve his already very good English.
